The Landing at Collegeville

By Rick Sheppard, Associate Broker, RE/MAX Achievers Inc

As a long time real estate broker with an SRES designation, I make a real effort to stay in tune with senior residential housing activity.  And since I live and work in Collegeville, I’m especially interested in real estate activity in the Perkiomen Valley, Spring-Ford and Phoenixville areas.

In that spirit, I recently made a trip to The Landing at Collegeville, an Atria Senior Living managed community located at 1421 South Collegeville Rd, Collegeville.  It was an easy trip – a short walk, really – my RE/MAX Achievers office is located at 1425 South Collegeville Rd and our office shares a driveway with The Landing at Collegeville.  The community consists of about 65 apartment style independent living units and another 30 memory care assisted living units – Atria’s nationally recognized Life Guidance memory care program.

As noted in The Landing’s website, their facility offers seniors an opportunity to discover the benefits of “an active yet simplified lifestyle… a vibrant retirement community offering discreet, 24 hour support from a professional staff.”  And Atria has served older adults and their families in the Delaware Valley for more than 15 years. Residents of The Landing at Collegeville can expect “the same forward-thinking culinary and events programs, excellent care – and industry-leading quality standards – that have made Atria one of the area’s most trusted names in senior living”.  From my tour of the facility, I can tell you that The Landing at Collegeville offers many opportunities for onsite enjoyment and socializing with others – a grand atrium with sitting areas and fireplace, cafes, game rooms, a movie theatre, and a very impressive dining area – spacious and elegant.  There are also manicured grounds for outside enjoyment during the warm season.

Construction began in 2015 – first earth moving, then groundbreaking, then the construction of the main entrance off of South Collegeville Rd (Rt 29), and then the construction of the building itself.  From the summer of 2015 through the summer of 2016, I watched, heard, smelled (pouring of blacktop) and sometimes felt (vibrations) all of this activity from the RE/MAX Achievers office just a few hundred feet away.  In the spring of 2016, a trailer was placed in the RE/MAX Achievers parking lot to serve as a temporary sales office and marketing for The Landing at Collegeville commenced.  Folks visited the trailer, then when construction was mostly finished, they visited the facility itself.   My understanding is that the first resident moved in sometime in early September.

There are various package plans available based on an individual’s needs and, of course, prices vary accordingly.  If you have any interest in exploring the available options, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to get you additional information.  I can also arrange for a tour, if you’d like.

In summary, The Landing and its management partner Atria Senior Living, offers a senior living lifestyle surely worth looking into.  And it’s located in a desirable area of Montgomery County – just rural enough to enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer yet close to Rt 422, Rt 29, King of Prussia, Valley Forge and the shops and eateries of Providence Town Center, Collegeville, Phoenixville, and Limerick.  Is it time for you to take a look at The Landing at Collegeville?
